Thomas Merton Center to Honor Monica Ruiz: June 26
Save the date -- Tuesday June 26 from 6 to 9 pm at the National Association of Letter Carriers Hall, 841 California Ave., Pittsburgh 15212 -- for the Thomas Merton Center's presentation of its New Person of the Year Award. This year's recipient is Monica Ruiz, the Community Organizer for Casa San Jose, an organization dedicated to assisting immigrants in the Pittsburgh region. Monica works to help Latino immigrants find services, legal protection, health care and shelter, and to achieve self-sufficiency. Registration information is available here.
